ZusammenfassungBericht über eine Patientin, bei der ambulant eine transfemorale Karotisangiographie (DSA) zum Ausschluss eines Glomuscaroticum-Tumors durchgeführt wurde, obgleich in der MRT nur einige Lymphknoten von bis zu 12 mm Durchmesser in der Nähe der linken Karotisbifurkation nachzuweisen waren. Nach komplikationslosem Untersuchungsverlauf und einer Nachbeobachtung von 4 h wurde die Patientin am gleichen Tage nach Hause entlassen. Es entwickelte sich ein Hämatom um die Punktionsstelle, das sich infizierte und eine stationäre Behandlung über mehrere Monate erforderte. Die Schlichtungsstelle für Arzthaftpflichtfragen kam zu der Auffassung, dass die DSA nicht indiziert war.

AbstractReport of a female outpatient who had a transfemoral carotid angiography (DSA) to exclude a carotid body tumor. MRI showed only some lymph nodes up to 12 mm in diameter near the left carotid bifurcation. The patient was discharged home after an uncomplicated examination and 4 h aftercare. She developed a hematoma around the puncture site which was contaminated. Hospitalization was necessary for several months. The fact-finding board for medical liability came to the result that the DSA was not indicated.
