Abstract:Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the second most common hospital-acquired infection in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs). It is linked to increased morbidity, mortality, and length of stay in the hospital and intensive care unit, adding tremendously to health care costs.
