Masons are regularly exposed to air pollution in the workplace The pollution exposure received by them is a risk factor for respiratory problems. Most of the masons had insufficient knowledge that is very important for the management of a person's illness. The purpose of this study was to determine relationship of knowledge on respiratory disorders with lung function in masons in east surabaya. This research was an observational study with a cross-sectional design with a purposive method.The research was conducted from April to July 2019 in the East Surabaya area. The variables that will be observed in this study are the level of knowledge of risk factors, symptoms, and treatment and therapy regarding respiratory disorders. In this study, there were 158 respondents consisting of 79 groups with impaired lung function and 79 groups without lung function disorders. Most of the level of knowledge of both groups was good in risk factors and treatment of respiratory disease, but instead on the symptoms regarding respiratory disease. The research showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge about risk factors for respiratory disease (p(0.223)<0.05) and lung function, but there was no difference in knowledge about symptoms (p(0.745)<0.05) and treatment (p(0.741)<0.05) respiratory disease with pulmonary function. Therefore, it was necessary to plan further educational programs in increasing masons' knowledge of respiratory symptoms so that they could catch respiratory diseases earlier.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major global health problem and has an impacton increasing health costs and decreasing productivity. Red ginger infusion (Zingiber officinale var.rubrum) is one of the most widely consumed medicinal plants in Indonesia. This study determine theimprovement of COPD symptoms with CAT (COPD Assessment Test) questionnaire from red gingertherapy. The research method was pre-post design in May-September 2021. Respondents were adultCOPD patients in Mojokerto City. The study was conducted by measuring COPD symptoms withCAT questionnaire. Red ginger therapy with 250 grams for 4 months was applied to respondents.Data analysis evaluated effectiveness of COPD symptom improvement in red ginger infusion usingt-test. Research respondents were 21 peoples. The average age of respondents was 53.24 years. Somerespondents experienced an increase in CAT values after red ginger therapy were 66.67%. Based on adifferent test, it showed Pvalue=0.028 (P<0.05), which proved that there was a significant differencebetween the CAT values before and after red ginger therapy for 4 weeks. Red ginger treatment for4 weeks was effective in improving COPD daily symptoms compared to before therapy. Therefore,therapy using red ginger need attention because it may help COPD therapy.Keywords: COPD, COPD assessment test, Zingiber officinale var. rubrum

Introduction: Lack of vitamin D in the body is often associated with various diseases, especially against respiratorydiseases. This can be exacerbated by conditions of air pollution and smoking. In addition, the level of education andchanges in lifestyle patterns in the community such as food processing, consumption, lack of physical activity andsocial environment further aggravate the risk of vitamin D deficiency. One of the livelihoods at risk of experiencingvitamin D deficiency is a pedicab driver. Knowledge of the importance of the role of vitamin D in risk groups isneeded to increase awareness, provide prevention independently. Prevention can be carried out independently, ifthe community has the correct understanding and knowledge of vitamin D. Aim of the study: The purpose of thisstudy is to determine the level of knowledge of the importance of vitamin D in pedicap drivers in Surabaya. Method:This research is an observational study with cross sectional method through the filling of the vitamin D. knowledgequestionnaire. Results and Discussions: The results of the research that have been obtained will be describeddescriptively to see the description of the knowledge of pedicap drivers in Surabaya. The sampling technique in thisstudy used purposive sampling. The sample used was 150 pedicap drivers in Surabaya. The results showed thatpedicab drivers have a low level of knowledge about the importance of vitamin D to health. Conclusion:Conclusions of various factors can influence the level of vitamin D knowledge of pedicab drivers, so that the rightintervention is needed.
