Risk assessment and monitoring of dinotefuran and its metabolites for Chinese consumption of apples

Abstract: Residues of dinotefuran and its metabolites, 1-methyl-3-(tetrahydro-3-furylmethyl)urea (UF) and 1-methyl-3-(tetrahydro-3-furylmethyl)guanidine (DN), in apple were investigated using a "QuEChERS" (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, safe) pretreatment and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Limits of detection (LODs) and quantification (LOQs) of dinotefuran, UF, and DN in apples were 0.011-0.960 and 0.037-3.200 μg/kg, respectively. The average recoveries of dinotefuran, UF, and DN in apple ranged… Show more

“…The residues of dinotefuran recorded in pollen, honey or syrup range from 0.03 ng/g to 147 ng/g [ 11 , 64 66 ]. On this basis, a field-realistic level of dinotefuran of 0.01 mg/L was selected as the sublethal concentration in this study.…”

“…= FI (kg) × HR (mg/kg) × IF/b.w. (kg) (Yu et al, ) where IESTI is the international estimated short–term intake, FI is the food intake, HR is the highest residue level and IF is the infusion factor. According to the Chinese Dietary Guidelines, the daily intake of rice and its products in the dietary pattern of the Chinese population is generally 0.2399 kg per capita, and the average body weight in China is 63 kg (Li, Liu, Cui, et al, ).…”

“…The linearity was studied using a standard solution and matrix-matched calibration by analyzing standard samples of 0.010, 0.025, 0.050, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, and 1.0 mg/L. The matrix effect caused by other components in the sample matrix will interfere with the ionization of target compounds when using an ESI ion source and then affect the accuracy of quantitative analysis method [10,11]. The matrix effect (ME%) was calculated as follows [12]:…”
