Riqueza, composición y diversidad de la comunidad de moluscos asociada al sustrato rocoso intermareal de playa Parque de la Reina, Acapulco, México

Abstract: Riqueza, composición y diversidad de la comunidad de moluscos asociada al sustrato rocoso intermareal de playa Parque de la Reina, Acapulco, México Abstract.-The information available about marine biodiversity in the State of Guerrero, Mexico, is scarce as designated by the National Commission for the Conservation and Use of Biodiversity. To gain on this issue, this work was carried on at the rocky intertidal zone of Parque de la Reina beach, Acapulco, which is located in the Priority Region for Marine Conserv… Show more

“…In this research, S. prismática recorded the greatest size; however C. coralloides is recorded having the greatest length among the species. B. adamsianus has been reported as the smallest species in the MPR 32 [33] [34], also L. (M) aristata [32]. This research also found these species as among those with the smallest recorded length.…”

“…The values of diversity and equity for mollusks, which have been reported by other research conducted at sites that are located in the MPR 32 [33] [34] are high. We also found high values, which correspond to a tropical area.…”

“…In the particular case of the rocky coast of Guerrero, Mexico, most studies of mollusks have been conducted in the intertidal zone Torreblanca-Ramírez et al, 2012Cerros-Cornelio et al, 2017). Given the importance of mollusks in the Mexican Pacific, the objectives of this study are: i) to determine the composition of the species, relative frequency of occurrence, relative abundance, and ecological attributes of the subtidal mollusks of different rocky coastal bottoms of Acapulco, Guerrero; ii) to compare the presence of rocky intertidal species with subtidal rocky species in this area of study and determine the species of economic importance in this environment; iii) and to determine the affinity of the taxocenosis of mollusks in the subtidal environment of Acapulco, Guerrero.…”

“…In particular for the coasts of Guerrero where there are reports of the class GASTROPODA analyzed as part of the set of classes studied, among which are those of [25]- [37], however, the class GASTROPODA in the coast of Guerrero, there are still many outstanding issues, regarding the knowledge of biodiversity. It is important to have an inventory of species, to study communities and composition, and to manage and maintain biodiversity of highly diverse regions such as the state of Guerrero in rational and responsible manner.…”
