Abstract:Pyridine-containing polymers are promising materials for a variety of applications from the capture of contaminants to the self-assembly of block copolymers. However, the coordinative ability and the innate basicity of the pyridine motif drastically limit the scope of pyridine-based monomers that can undergo living polymerization. For example, processes relying on transition metal catalysts are rarely amenable to controlled polymerizations because of coordination of the pyridine nitrogen to the metal center. H… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
