RIM-ONE: An open retinal image database for optic nerve evaluation

Abstract: Automated diagnosis of glaucoma disease has been studied for years. A great amount of research work in this field has been focused on the analysis of retinal fundus images to localize, detect and evaluate the optic disc. An open fundus image database with accurate gold standards of the optic nerve head has been implemented. A variability measurement by zones of the optic disc is also proposed. The relevance of this work is to provide accurate ONH segmentations and a segmentation assessment procedure to allow t… Show more

“…Depth is recorded as intensities and registered manually with the reference stereo images to create depth ground truth for evaluation. Our glaucoma prediction approach is evaluated on a set of 100 images (T2) created using publicly available RIM-ONE R1, RIM-ONE R2 and RIM-ONE R3 datasets [11]. T2 consists of 53 normal images, and 47 glaucoma and glaucoma suspicious images.…”

“…An Open Retinal Image Database for Optic Nerve Evaluation (RIM-ONE) is a fundus image database that is related to glaucoma disease. I It consists of 169 ONH images, where the images are divided into several classes as follows: normal 118 images, early glaucoma 12 images, moderate glaucoma 14 images, deep glaucoma 14 images and ocular hypertension (OHT) 11 images [35,36]. In this study the RIM-ONE database is employed as it is considered precise gold standards of the ONH.…”
