Ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs) and their important health promoting property

Abstract: Ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs), widely present in plants, certain fungi and bacteria, can inhibit protein synthesis by removing one or more specific adenine residues from the large subunit of ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs).
