Abstract:The article dwells on ribonucleases (RNAses) whose cytotoxic activity depends on the enzymatic activity, i.e. the ability to catalyze the cleavage of phosphodiester bonds of RNA. It presents both well-known information and our own data on RNAses of different origins with antitumor properties; it investigates the relation between the mechanism of cytotoxicity and biochemical and molecular biological characteristics. The analysis of published data demonstrates that all above characteristics contribute to the ant… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
