The a-iminoketo chelation plays an important role in the biosynthesis of the pterins, lumazines, flavins coenzymes [12,13].Here, we report the synthesis, spectroscopic investigation, crystal and molecular structure for the [ReOBr 2 (iquinpk-OH)(PPh 3 )] complex.The title compound has been obtained in the reaction of [ReOBr 3 (PPh 3 ) 2 ] [14] with 1-isoquinolinyl phenyl ketone in acetone [15]. In this case the carbonylic carbon atom of the 1-isoquinolinyl phenyl ketone is a subject to nucleophilic attack of water and the gem-diol form of iquinpk is formed.…”
