“…The impact of an algae in soils contaminated with bisphenols has not been studied so far. The choice of rhamnolipid 90 was dictated by the fact that, on the one hand, Pseudomonas aeruginosa produces rhamnolipid biosurfactants involved in numerous processes including removal of phenols and heavy metals from wastewater (Verma and Sarkar 2017), and on the other hand, metabolic pathways were identified, which are induced by Pseudomonas sp. and which effectively degrade bisphenols (Singh et al 2018).…”

“…The CMC value was determined from the intersection point of two tangents of the surface tension isotherm (Figure ), which was a plot of equilibrium surface tension versus RHL concentration. The CMC of pure RHL and RHL in presence of Cd +2 and CV were found to be 80 and 60 mg/L. The decrease in CMC value of RHL in presence of Cd +2 and CV could be elucidated by the fact that the charge of the hydrophilic head group (rhamnose moiety) was partially counterbalanced by the CV and Cd +2 molecules present in solution, resulting in decrease in charge density at the RHL vesicle surface.…”

“…Very few MEUF studies with biosurfactants have been investigated for separation of organic and inorganic pollutants from aqueous streams . Our previous work has demonstrated the potential of RHL (rhamnolipid) in MEUF for separation of Cd(II) and p‐cresol from aqueous solution . In this study, we report the simultaneous removal of heavy metal ion (Cd +2 ) and organic dye (CV) from aqueous synthetic solution by MEUF with RHL as a glycolipid biosurfactant.…”

“…They compared the results with those obtained in the presence of SDS. The experiments gave slightly higher rejections of both Cd(II) and p-Cresol with R values of 99.4 and 23.9, respectively[39].…”
