Revistas, mapas y recorridos: la “nueva generación literaria” en la Argentina de los años veinte

Abstract

The twenties are marked by the emergence of young intellectuals in the public sphere who insisted on the need for a renewal of culture. Whether from the university classrooms, from the newsrooms, or from their own publications, these young people slipped from the challenge or criticism of the previous generation to various proposals that were gradually acquiring more defined contours. This article intends to analyze the continuities and ruptures in two moments that articulate these youth interventions: the first, we find it in the answers corresponding to the survey that the magazine Nosotros publishes between May and September of 1923; the second, revolves around the analysis of two own projects of these young people, the second period of Proa and the Martín Fierro magazine. The objective is to examine how some assumptions, tensions and self-definitions that are present in the responses of 1923, will appear subtly displaced and transformed into youth enterprises that are consolidated in the mid-1920s.
