Revisión estructurada de los cuestionarios y escalas que miden la actividad física en los adultos mayores y ancianos

Abstract: The Exercise Stage of Change questionnaire showed responsiveness and sufficient reliability to allow individual use. The 7Day PAR questionnaire and the Modified Baecke Questionnaire (Spanish version), which evaluate physical activity, can be used on an individual basis, although their responsiveness has not been studied. In general, the instruments analyzed do not assess mild intensity activities.

“…Two activity monitors (Actigraph [ACT; Actigraph LLC, Pensacola, FL] and Sensewear Armband [SWA; Body media, Pittsburgh, PA]) and one self-reported questionnaire (Community Health Activities Model Program for Seniors [CHAMPS])have been validated in older adults, including those with knee osteoarthritis,[1012] and are commonly used in research in this population. [1315] These three instruments have the advantage to measure light-intensity PA(i.e., household chores and slow-walking) that are mostly performed by older adults who undergo TKA. [1621] While activity monitors are costly and need several days of data collection, questionnaires have low cost and it takes 15–20 minutes to complete.…”

“…Older physical activity and sedentary time are frequently assessed using self-report questionnaires (7,8). However, some caution is required in the interpretation of these measures since these tools are potentially influenced by social and mental factors that difficult the physical activity assessment reliability, furthermore when it is of a light-to-moderate intensity.…”
