Review—Prospects in Cancer Diagnosis: Exosome-Chip for Liquid Biopsy

Kamil Reza Khondakar,
Matin Ataei Kachouei,
Frank Efe Erukainure
et al.

Abstract: A liquid biopsy combined with an exosome chip is an important detection tool for early cancer diagnosis. Exosomes have a crucial function in the exchange of information between cells and are present in biological fluids. Exosome chips are microfluidic devices designed to isolate, capture, and analyze exosomes for analysis of patient samples. These offer on-chip detection, high-throughput analysis, and multiplex measurements. Such chips can integrate with electrochemical and optical detectors, and mass spectrom… Show more

“…For instance, 4,24 used SVM method for detection of tea leaf disease by taking dataset of 150 samples and achieved 93% accuracy. Taohidul Islam used [25][26][27] naive bayes method on 60 images of rice plant and achieved 90% accuracy. Chit Su Hlaing et al 28 worked on tomato leaf disease classification using plant village dataset.…”

“…[1][2][3][4] First introduced as biosensor by Nylander and Liedberg in 1982, 5 SPR biosensors have been developed in various configurations such as coupled with prism, grating, and fiber optics. 6,7 To date, this device is not only used for medical applications such as detecting glucose, 8 DNA, 9 exosomes, 10 antigen, 11 virus, 12 but has also been used in the field of food safety, 13,14 and environmental monitoring. 15 Although SPR biosensors have long been explored, this device still relies on gold as a transducer material, making cheap devices challenging to achieve.…”
