PurposeThe present study is intended to assess the risk factors associated with digital buying. Also aims to design and develop an instrument to assess the digital buyers risk factor score (DBRFS) in light of pandemic.Design/methodology/approachPresent investigation uses a quantitative approach to achieve the stated objectives. The survey instrument for the purpose of assessing risk factors associated with digital buying was developed in two phases. The present study adopts theory of planned behaviour (TPB), built based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA). The data were collected and analysed considering 500 valid responses, sampling unit being digital buyers using social media platforms in tyre-II city of India. The data collection was undertaken between June 2021 and August 2021. The instrument is designed and validated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA).FindingsThe present research identified six perceived risk factors that are associated with digital buying; contractual risk, social risk, psychological risk, perceived quality risk, financial risk and time risk. The DBRFS of male is 3.7585, while female is 3.7137. Thus, risk taking by the male and female is at par. For the age group 15–30, DBRFS is 3.6761, while age group 31–45 noted as 3.7889 and for the 46–50 age groups it is measured as 3.9649.Practical implicationsThe marketers are expected to have the knowledge about how people responds to the pandemic. The outcome of the research helps to understand consumer behaviour but disentangling consumer’s “black box” is challenging especially during global distress. The present study outcome helps the digital shopkeepers to respond positively to meet the needs of digital buying.Originality/valueThe scale development and to quantify the DBRFS. A deeper understanding of about digital consumers during pandemics will help digital shopkeepers to connect issues related digital buying.

Home care (HC) is recommended for older adults who want to live at home as long as possible despite life-limiting conditions. It is more convenient and cost-effective than institutionalization and hospitalization. However, HC for older adults in Iran faces many challenges. The purpose of this study was to explore the perspectives of different stakeholders involved in HC for older adults about their experiences and suggestions for HC improvement. This qualitative study was conducted based on the explorative content analysis approach between 2021 and 2022 in Tabriz, Iran. The participants were selected using the purposeful sampling method, and the data were collected through in-depth semistructured personal interviews. A total of 27 individuals who participated in individual interviews were family members, HC workers (including nurses and unqualified paid caregivers), heads of counseling and nursing care at home centers, and experts who had clinical or research experience in the field of geriatric care. Collected data were categorized into three main themes: defects in home care governance, concern about the efficiency of home care, and caregivers’ job security concerns. These themes reflected the problems of HC, such as conflicts between multiple trustees, lack of evaluation and monitoring, inadequate competence and financial barriers of families and caregivers, and poor integration and coordination of services. Therefore, it is recommended to develop a national model for HC for Iranian older adults and allocation of different financial resources for HC, implementing quality improvement and evaluation tools, enhancing the training of caregivers, providing them with adequate compensation and benefits, and ensuring the safety and quality of services. These findings can inform the policymakers and planners of care services about the needs and challenges of this population and facilitate the collaboration among different stakeholders to provide better HC for older adults.

PurposeCOVID-19 is a global event affecting supply chain operations and human health. With COVID-19, many issues in business models, business processes and supply chains, especially in the manufacturing industry, have had to change. The ability to analyze supply chain performances and ensure circularity in supply chains has become one of the factors whose importance has increased rapidly with COVID-19. Therefore, it aims to determine which supply chain performance criteria come to the fore for the company under consideration to accelerate the transformation into high performance and circularity in supply chains.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, a new circular-SCOR model is proposed, and 17 supply chain performance measurement criteria are prioritized for a manufacturing company in the context of circular economy principles during COVID-19 by using stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis and analytical hierarchy process method, separately.FindingsAs a result, for both methods, in the case study discussed, the demand fulfillment rate is determined as the most prominent criterion in line with the circular economy principles in the COVID-19 period in manufacturing supply chains.Originality/valueIt is expected that this study will contribute to managers and policy makers as it addresses the “new normal” that started after COVID-19 and the criteria to be considered in supply chain performance measurement and emphasizes the need to adopt circular supply chains, especially in manufacturing industries.
