Review of Wing-Morphing Technology

Daniyal Ahmed,
M. Nasir Bashir

Abstract: This study aims to review wind morphing technology. Wing morphing is a newly emerging field of research in aeronautical engineering, which generally deals with supplanting the traditional wing flight dynamics and making it more efficient. This paper highlights the major advances in the field of research such that an overview of the methodology and findings of the researchers is provided. This is achieved by categorizing wing morphing and defining each of its types and then providing examples from past research… Show more

“…The steps are includes: i) surface treatment of CF (de‐sizing) ii) deposition of metals on CF, iii) characterization of the modified CF, iv) preparation of the representative batteries using commercial routes, and v) the performance analysis of the batteries. In the first step, to create a highly conductive CF surface, de‐sizing was applied to remove outer less conductive shell over the CF based on the similar procedures applied in literature [17,18] . Acetone and nitric acid (HNO 3 ) were used to remove sizing material on CF surfaces.…”

“…In the first step, to create a highly conductive CF surface, de-sizing was applied to remove outer less conductive shell over the CF based on the similar procedures applied in literature. [17,18] Acetone and nitric acid (HNO 3 ) were used to remove sizing material on CF surfaces. CF are immersed into acetone at 40 °C for 2 h, then the CF are dipped into HNO 3 (~70 %) at 40 °C for 2 h. As a second step, cathodic electrochemical deposition of Zn, Sn and Cu/Pb metals on the CF by using the baths and parameters given in Table 1, were performed as represented in Figure 1.…”

“…[1,10,11] Due to these different stimuli, 4D printing can be used for grip pers, smart textile, smart design, biomi metic materials, biomedical application, etc. [12][13][14] Normally, photopolymerization is a unique process enabling to transform a liquid state oligomer/monomer into a solid polymer by the use of a photo initiating system (PIS) and upon light irradiation (e.g., UVlight, visible light, and sunlight). [15][16][17][18] Compared to thermal polymerization (a common polymerization technique), photopolymerization possesses a lot of attractive advantages, such as a coexistence of high reaction rate and a mild reaction temperature (normally room temperature), low energy consumption, lowcost, and safe optical source (LED), and enabling to get an excellent spatial and temporal control, etc.…”
