“…The vegetable production in Kunming district was 27.11 million tons in 2016 and increased to 35.60 million tons in 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 6.75%. More than 30% of fruit and vegetable waste percentages for each commodity group in each step of the food supply chain are as follows: agricultural production (15%), harvest handling and storage (9%), processing and packaging (25%), distribution by transportation (10%), and consumption (7%), respectively, in South and Southeast Asia [2,3,4,5,6,7,8]. From quantities of vegetable production of 35.60 million tons in 2020 in Kunming district, it was estimated that vegetable production yield was lost as vegetable waste (VW) during agricultural production (5.34 million tons), harvest handling and storage (3.204 million tons), vegetable processing and packing (8.90 million tons), distribution by transportation (3.56 million tons), and consumption (2.492 million tons), respectively.…”
