The present work aims to arrive at the design and application of a methodology through a tool that allows a quick and effective review of the figures of a company in the commerce sector, using the indicators that reflect the company's cash generation and its ability to comply with the main commitments in the short term: the costs of the operation (variation of working capital), the debt service, the replacement of fixed assets and the payment of dividends, as support for decisionmaking in the short-term aimed at the survival of the business, especially in times of economic crisis such as the one that arose in 2020, generated by the SARS virus -COV 2 COVID 19, which managed to destabilize the world economic system, even in the most strongest on the planet. To develop the purposes of this work, we start from an analysis of financial indicators in general, seeking to reach those that best allow evaluating the company's ability to generate sufficient liquidity to cover its basic expenses, to build a tool with them that through the creation of possible scenarios supports decision-making in the short term. Then, the validation of the perception of the tool is carried out through the group methodology with 10 merchants and companies in the commerce sector in order to validate the usability of the tool and propose guidelines in the decisionmaking processes in the short term.
