Review of The Effectiveness of Plant Media Extracts in Barium Hexaferrite Magnets (BaFe12O19)

Abstract: Betel leaf is a typical Indonesian herbal plant that propagates on other tree trunks. So far, betel leaf has only been used in biomedicine and traditional medicine, whereas the chemical compounds of betel leaf can be used to absorb electromagnetic waves. In this mini-review, we review several research results to discuss the potential effectiveness of betel leaf in barium hexaferrite as an absorber of electromagnetic radiation. We compiled this mini-review based on the literature review method that is discussed… Show more

“…The size distribution of the particles can be controlled by carefully choosing the composition of the precursor and adjusting synthesis parameters, including temperature, pressure, and reaction duration. 50 The particle sizes determined by FESEM differ slightly from those determined by PSA. At various hydrothermal temperatures of 140 °C, 160 °C, and 180 °C, the particle sizes determined by FESEM were 232.5 nm, 365 nm, and 792 nm, respectively, whereas those determined by PSA were 267.2 nm, 488.7 nm, and 768.5 nm.…”

“…Hematite (α-Fe2O3) has properties that are difficult to corrode so it is suitable for applications such as gas sensors, catalysts, lithium-ion batteries, and pigments, it can also be used in the manufacture of permanent magnets. At high temperatures, the α-Fe (Edianta et al, 2021;Gandha et al, 2016;Miftahul Khoiroh et al, 2013;Rostami et al, 2021;Suhendi et al, 2021;Susilawati et al, 2022). (hematite) phase is the most stable phase compared to other phases.…”

“…Starting from electrical equipment to nonelectrical equipment utilizing permanent magnets, for example, loudspeakers, water meters, KWH-meter, rice cookers, transformers, and generators. The characteristics of magnetic materials are determined by magnetic quantities such as susceptibility, remanent magnetization, saturation magnetization, and coercivity field [1,2].…”
