Review of Control techniques in Distributed Power Generation Systems

Abstract: In this document are revised different control techniques applied to distributed generation systems, including control of active-reactive power, load-frequency control and the identification and control of island mode operation of the generation units, which are the main themes identified. The different control strategies identified are PID, robust, predictive and fuzzy, with applications in the aforementioned subjects. Particularly, applications for the interconnection of generation units and the control of t… Show more

“…This control technique increasingly dwells on the loops of the microgrid inverter control. It is involved in voltage, and frequency controls under unbalanced conditions, often designed with the infinity horizon [15]. Direct control and slide mode control strategies of DGs for microgrids can be developed under the robust control technique [16,111].…”

“…Direct control and slide mode control strategies of DGs for microgrids can be developed under the robust control technique [16,111]. The direct power control coordinates the synchronisation of the microgrid [15,111]. The robust control technique also operates under different loading conditions.…”

“…Under the support of advanced communication systems, an acceleration unit is configured at the protection installation. When the fault occurs, the fault can be quickly removed, which can quickly and accurately remove the fault, avoid the distributed power supply from running out of operation, and ensure the reliability of the power supply [4]. A scholar introduced an adaptive protection strategy, relying on advanced computer and communication technology, through real-time power flow calculation, a large amount of electrical quantities obtained are stored in the computer, and these electrical quantities are compared and analyzed, according to the comparison with the normal quantity to determine where the fault occurred.…”
