Review: Effects of edible coating on fresh-cut fruits

Abstract: Fresh-cut fruits have a shorter shelf life due to its perishable nature. Edible coating being biodegradable and environmental friendly, provides protective covering to fresh-cut fruits. This review covered the effects of edible coating on fresh cut fruits, i.e., apple, apricot, banana, kiwi, mango, papaya, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon and melon.
