“…[ 27‐31 ] Moreover, they exhibit excellent host–guest properties and attractive flexibility driven by multiple non‐covalent interactions, which makes CB[6] attractive as a building block for the construction of many supramolecular assemblies, such as zero‐ (0D) to three‐ dimensional (3D) structures and molecular necklaces have been reported. [ 31‐40 ] For example, Ma's group have reported the host− guest complexation of Au 22 (FGGC) 18 nanoclusters with CB[7]/ CB[8], and the fluorescence and the quantum yield (QY) were significantly enhanced, because CB[7]/CB[8] effectively suppress the non‐radiative rate and enhance the radiative transition rate of clusters. [ 41 ] Recently, our group [ 42 ] reported a series of 1D Ag 12 chalcogenolate cluster‐assembled materials with pseudorotaxane linkers and silver(I) cluster nodes, in which [Ag 12 (SC 7 H 7 ) 6 (CH 3 SO 3 ) 8 (L·PF 6 )] n ( SCM 1 ) showed the enhanced photoluminescence at room temperature compared to isolated cluster without linkers.…”

“…The shuttling speed must be correlated to the time resolution of techniques used for measurements. Time‐resolved techniques could thus be useful for the study of CB[ n ] molecular shuttles in water. New stimuli could broaden the palette of available means to actuate and control ring shuttling in water. Getting typical signatures of CB molecular shuttles other than by NMR would also be positive as definitive proof of their existence seems reluctant to other analyses which often suggest implication of host shuttling rather than providing a direct proof. The functionalization of CB[ n ] to make it responsive to various stimuli [82] could open new perspectives in host:guest shuttling systems. Most importantly and in the light of recent advances in the field of molecular machines, [83a–c,22c,83d] the demonstration of unidirectional CB transport in water should be reported. This would open the way to advanced molecular machines working away from equilibrium and producing work.…”
