“…The contrast ratio value defined as ΔT% of the films remains almost unchanged and close to 40% during the consecutive electrochemical cycles (up to 150 cycles were performed) suggesting robustness and good stability of the FeP 2 W 17 @SiO 2 thin film on ITO under applied potentials. Such good stability was achieved in spite of using bare ITO as a counter electrode thanks to the low applied overvoltage (avoiding any deterioration that may appear under strong electrochemical reduction 110 ) and owing to the stabilizing effect of the mesoporous silica film (as also reported for other modified ITO surfaces exploited in electrochromism applica- tions 111,112 ). The switching times calculated at the point at which the electrochromic device achieved 95% of its full switching cycle gave rise to a coloration time of about 2.1 s and bleaching time around 2.9 s with a transmittance modulation of 40% at λ = 515 nm.…”

“…With the advantages of being environmentally friendly and having a wide range of color changes, conductive polymers have been extensively studied as EC materials in the recent decades . EC conductive polymer materials have received increasing attention in recent years because they can switch color states in a reversible manner at different applied voltages, as well as because of their tantalizing and expanded applications, especially in energy-efficient smart windows, automotive glass, solar panels, etc .…”
