Abstract:Based on the Stokes-Mueller calculus, linear optical effects of liquid crystals were investigated using the θ-scan technology. Usually, when a circularly polarized light beam passes through an anisotropic optical medium, the transmitted light beam behaves as elliptically polarized light.
