Return on investment calculator for RFID ecosystem of high tech company

Abstract: The use of RFID technology affords an opportunity for greater visibility in the supply chain and further supply chain automation, making the processes more streamlined, providing accurate and timely automatic data capture, thereby improving shipment reliability. This paper provides a case study of an RFID-enabled supply chain ecosystem focusing on a large high tech multi-national corporation based in Singapore. Specifically, the paper provides an implementation framework for the Return on Investment (ROI) calc… Show more

“…In particular, much of the IoT benefit depends on what information is collected in which manner. To make business sense, IoT applications have to be investigated in terms of the value created in the entire supply chain context (Souza et al 2011). Currently, for the most part, the existing Internet is a static repository of unconstructed data that is accessible only through human interventions.…”

“…RFID is one key technology that will provide an imperative support for IOT to play an essential role in integrating the different systems together. RFID is an automated sensing technology that incorporates tags to Time taken from the ticket punching area to the metro platform 0.7 by elevator and 1.02 by escalator transfer data upon RFID reader queries (De Souza, et al, 2011;Li, 2009). The RFID system has been used in 'Salik' toll gates in the UAE, which charges car users without hindering them through toll booths or barriers.…”

“…This brief analysis has outlined the complexity of AR devices together with their potential applications in a manufacturing company: thus, the research problem in analysis in this paper faces with evaluating the most efficient AR devices for a specific manufacturing process. By focusing on innovative applications, the feasibility study is very complex due to several factors (Gnoni and Rollo, 2010;De Souza et al, 2011): one of the most critical issue is integrating technological with process-based metrics: the proposes study proposes a method to overcome this limit.…”
