Retroperitoneal migration of an intrauterine device: a case report

Abstract: This patient presented with pelvic pain and intrauterine pregnancy following insertion of copper intrauterine device, whose strings had previously been palpable by the patient. We performed medical abortion followed by laparoscopy, which identified intrauterine device in the retroperitoneum overlying the ureter and iliac vessels.
