[Retracted] The Expression Profile of miRNA in Glioma and the Role of miR‐339‐5p in Glioma

Abstract: Objective. To reveal the expression profile of miRNA in glioma and the effects of microRNA-339-5p (miR-339-5p) on glioma. Methods. The glioma and normal tissues were randomly selected for miRNA gene chip detection and qRT-PCR verification. The U87 cells were separated into miR-NC, miR-339-5p mimic, and miR-339-5p suppressor group. Clonogenesis test, flow cell technique, Transwell, and cell scratch assay were utilized to verify the roles of miR-339-5p in cell proliferation, cell apoptosis, cell invasion, and ce… Show more

“…MIR602 is also involved in Hedgehog signalling in chondrocytes and has anti-apoptotic activities in hepatocel-lular carcinoma [69,70]. It is upregulated in gliomas and colon cancers [71,72]. MIR602 overexpression has been associated with a poor prognosis in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma and in glioblastoma multiforme [68,73] and a favourable outcome in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [74].…”

“…MiR-339-5p is a tumor suppressor, inhibiting PTP4A1/HMGB1 signal pathway it suppresses vasculogenic mimicry, migration, and invasion of brain glioma U251 cells [ 69 ]. Downregulation of miR-339-5p was recently revealed in glioma [ 70 ], where overexpressed of miR-339-5p has been shown to inhibit the proliferation, invasion and migration of U87 MG human GBM cells and promote programmed cell death.…”

“…Using mature miRNA mimics is a more convenient and expedited method of intervention [ 3 ]. For example, the transfection of miR-339-5p mimic in vitro demonstrated the potential to suppress the proliferation, invasiveness, migration, and survival of glioblastoma cells [ 25 ].…”
