RETRACTED: Flat Ball Topology Based 2.5Tbps/100km MultiTransceivers Gigabit-Ethernet Passive Optical Network Architecture

Abstract

The current electronic data centers need high power requirements, so as to offer this one a large bandwidth, low latency and low power consumption. In this context, a dynamic Flat Ball topology-based gigabit ethernet passive optical network (GE-PON) architecture with five transceivers having low latency and bandwidth reconfiguration potential to minimise energy consumption using passive devices at data centers, is presented in this paper. This architecture offers 26dB and 40dB loss in uplink and downlink respectively with 200 nodes, compared to Sandwich tree and Sirius architectures. Compared to the conventional GE-PON, it allows 9dBm in downlink and 10dBm in uplink energy saving with 1ms traffic delay. Also, it offers energy ratio up to 39% in downlink and 37% in uplink having 50 Erlang network loads at 25×100Gbps traffic rate. It provides faithful data transmission over 100km bidirectional channel considering fiber impairments and noise. The proposed design can be extended to 1:64 split ratio providing maximum 35ms in downlink and 31ms in uplink transmission delay. Comparing the Flat ball topology with other existing ones indicate the superiority of the former architecture in terms of less cost, power consumption, traffic delay and high scalability as well as flexibility.
