Rethinking Roundhouses

Abstract: Excavated plans of roundhouses may compound multiple episodes of activity, design, construction, occupation, repair, and closure, reflecting successive stages of the building’s biography. What does not survive archaeologically can only be inferred from context or comparative evidence.
