Rethinking Educational Reforms Through a Complex Dynamical Systems Approach: Preliminary Report from an Empirical Research

Abstract: Literature on educational reforms is rich of cases where changes have been attempted, without however to attain success. Likewise the Greek education system had experienced a lot of reforms, most of which have failed to make the intended changes and they attenuated shortly after their implementation or they ceased at the stage of legislative planning. On the other hand, the traditional research have failed to develop a coherent theoretical perspective and provide satisfactory interpretations of the perpetually… Show more

“…As a concrete example, building conceptual links between history and physics and presenting students with reconstructions about the historical role of physics experiments of the 19th century has been indicated as a rather powerful way of favoring physics teaching [35]. Although resistance-to-change [48] poses a challenge for innovating teaching styles and curricula, the advent of tools reducing anxiety and favoring concentration in students is important not only for its self-evident psychological benefits but also in terms of facilitating and enhancing students' performance in STEM [6,4] and students' appreciation of STEM careers [15].…”

“…is is because if the input data have a high dimensionality and many identical features, this will greatly increase the time for model training and the model's generalization ability will be less effective. e input samples are normalized to ensure that the data are in the specified range [1,2] interval, which facilitates the processing of the data and improves the network efficiency.…”

“…e development and changes in the times will put forward newer and higher requirements for foreign language teaching, and students, as the main subjects of learning, will also constantly put forward new requirements for foreign language teaching [1]. e current English teaching in higher education cannot meet the new requirements and needs of society and students, and this contradiction will push foreign language teaching to continuously reform and develop [2].…”
