Retarded and advanced Green functions for first-order differential equations
Antonio Soares de Castro
Abstract:Retarded and advanced Green functions are examined through the lens of linear first-order ordinary differential equations. They are constructed for a finite interval with emphasis on the imposition of homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions at the interval ends. It is shown that both types of Green functions exhibit the property of facilitating solutions.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
