“…KfK, together with two companies, Vacuumschmelze Hanau (conductor) and Siemens Erlangen coil , undertook the responsibility, ducting forced-flow cooled NbTi coil. Since March 1984 up to the end of July 1987, the coil has passed a series of tests: a single-coil test in the domestic facility TOSKA [2]; a single-coil test in the IFSMTF [3]; tests in a toroidal configuration up to 8 T with and without poloidal field transients; and an extended single-coil test up to 9 T.
