Restricted access to assisted reproductive technology and fertility preservation: legal and ethical issues

Abstract: We review the legal and ethical framework of reproductive medicine in Brazil and discuss whether and why reproductive health is a basic right of citizens. Since infertility is a true disease, its treatment should be affordable in any health system that claims to be universal.
