Restorative pouch surgery following proctocolectomy for inflammatory bowel disease: past experience and future direction

Abstract: Major advancements in surgery for patients suffering proctocolitis from ulcerative colitis (UC) or selected patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) have emerged in a relatively short time.
