Responses to T cell receptor/CD3 and interleukin-2 receptor stimulation are altered in T cells from B cell non-Hodgkin?s lymphomas

Abstract: T cells infiltrating (T-TIL) B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) are thought to represent a local host response to the tumor. However, tumor progression in the presence of this T cell infiltrate suggests that the T-TIL may be functionally impaired. To address this issue we determined whether response to stimulation of T-TIL from 25 patients with NHL through the T cell receptor (TCR/CD3) and the interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor (IL-2R) was intact, since activation of these receptors is important for proliferation… Show more

“…The advantage of using TCLs over T-cell clones is based on function. 6,[36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43] Although CD40 activation was sufficient for FL cells to present alloantigen to normal allogeneic T cells, the hypothesis that these lines might recognize a variety of different tumor antigens with different affinities so that the this, in itself, was not sufficient to induce either T-cell proliferation or cytolysis in the autologous setting. We and others immune response is not only directed against a single antigenic determinant.…”

“…If the magnetic field is strong enough, accretion onto the cloud complex is mediated by the Lorentz force and mainly parallel to the field lines (e.g. Kudoh et al 2007;Inoue & Inutsuka 2008;Kudoh & Basu 2010;Hennebelle 2013). In the cloud interior, strong fields stabilise the filaments and clumps against gravity.…”

“…Conversion of these data points to volume density shows that the scaling in the latter region is B ∝ n 0.65 , which perfectly fits to conditions of frozen-in magnetic field lines and isotropic collapse (which gives a relation B ∝ n 0.66 ). Numerically, the issue of magnetic fields and their relevance for molecular cloud formation has been investigated by many authors (e.g., Inoue & Inutsuka 2008;Price & Bate 2008Kudoh & Basu 2010;Vázquez-Semadeni et al 2011;Inoue & Inutsuka 2012;Chen & Ostriker 2014). Most of them concentrated on the initial stages of the formation process.…”
