“…An improved yield effect due to zeolite addition also was found in Brassica napus plants by Shahsavari et al (2014Shahsavari et al ( , 1813, since the greatest proportions of all studied traits were attained by applying Z2Zn2 (15 t ha -1 zeolite and 0.1% Zn sulfate). The rates of grain yield, biological yield, and harvest index improved by 43.8 %, 73.9 %, and 30.0%, respectively, by the pooled application of Z and Zn.…”

“…Moreover, concentration of oleic acid and linoleic acid was also remained unaltered with Zn fertilization but was influenced by the crop cultivar. Shahsavari et al (2014) reported a significant effect of Zn on seed oil properties, but they used different sources of Zn with much higher concentration which might be the reason for contrasting results. The effect of Zn fertilization was significant (P < 0.05) for concentration of oleic acid only in the second year which depicts a strong effect of environment on crop response to fertilization (Al-Naggar et al 2015;Humbert et al 2016), and it strengthens our contrasting results.…”

“…Zinc is an essential micronutrient for production of proteins in plants, and it is reported that optimal application of it can increase the oil and protein contents of oil seed crops (Bybordi and Ebrahimian 2013;Shahsavari et al 2014;Shahsavari and Dadrasnia 2016). Zn is also a main component of ribosomes and essential for their development (Clemens 2010) and plays an important role in cellular processes.…”

“…Drought is one of the most important limiting factors for plant growth and agricultural production (Sun X P, et al 2013;Shahsavari N, et al 2014). Current research further con rms the negative impact of drought on plant growth.…”
