“…Alam et al ( 2011c ) found a higher value of an aerosol index over southern regions of Pakistan because of highly populated and industrialized regions. Our results are in agreement with (Tariq et al 2022 ) as they also found high AI values in 2021. Tariq and Ali ( 2015 ) also showed similar results and showed a higher concentration of AOD in the central and southern regions of Pakistan but that study was just for the period of almost 4 years (December 2004 to November 2008) which indirectly shows that if there will be a higher concentration of AOD then it will lead to a higher concentration of UVAI in those regions.…”

“…The value of the coefficient of determination between UVAI and seasons (spring, summer, autumn, and winter) within the study period is 0.2187, 0.2661, 0.7635, and 0.5304, respectively, which shows the highest correlation for autumn and the lowest correlation for spring. Tariq et al (2022) similarly calculated the coefficient of determination between AI and years, but their values differ a little bit from our calculations because they have found their results on temporal distribution and we have determined our results on spatial distribution. Zeb et al (2019) showed that prominent aerosols during summer and spring were dust particles whereas the aerosols during winter and autumn were due to anthropogenic activities during the study period between 2014 and 2016.…”
