Response Of Chilli (Capsium annuum L.) To Zinc And Boron Application

Abstract: Field trial on chilli (cv. Bogra local) was conducted in Grey Terrace Soil under at Spice Research Centre, Bogra during rabi seasons of 2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. The objectives were to evaluate the response of chilli to zinc and boron and to find out the optimum dose of zinc and boron for maximizing the yield. Treatments for this study comprised of four levels each of zinc (0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 kg/ha) and boron (0, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 kg/ha) along with a blanket dose of N 130 P 60 K 80 S 20 Mg 10 kg/h… Show more

“…Zinc is required as structural and catalytic components of protein and enzymes for normal growth and development [15]. Foliar spray contains Mg element, which plays an important physiological and biological role in the synthesis of chlorophyll, enzymes activity, protein, carbohydrate metabolism and transfer of energy, as well as it acts an oxidationreduction reactions catalyst in many in plant tissues [16].…”

“…Shil et al [23] show that the interaction effect between zinc and boron was significant in the yield of dry chili and the weight of ripe chili/plant. The highest yield was recorded during the application of zinc 3 kg/ha Boron 1 kg/ha that is 1138 kg/ha however in control 7.3 kg/ha is reported.…”

“…According to Deore et al, (2010), foliar treatment of Higraw in chili plants increases fruit length. Shil et al, (2013) put zinc and boron on chili crop in addition to boron application, which had a major influence on fruit length. Table 4.…”
