Respon Biologi Larva Spodoptera Frugiperda J.E. Smith (Noctuidae: Lepidoptera) pada Uji Paksa Pengkonsumsian Berbagai Pakan Daun

Abstract: Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali sehingga terdapat 33 unit percobaan. Jenis pakan… Show more

“…S. frugiperda larvae prefer to eat the leaves of Mustard greens plants with a softer texture and dark green colour. This is in line with (19), showing that in the non-choice test, Mustard greens provided appropriate and sufficient nutrition for larval growth. In addition, the different attack intensity values are thought to be due to biophysical factors such as morphology, anatomy and leaf colour that can affect insect preference for a plant.…”

“…Larval development is characterized by a change in the larval phase from 2nd instar larvae to 6th instar larvae. It is influenced by the action of three critical hormones in insect development: juvenile hormone, prothoracicotropic hormone (PTTH) and ecdysone hormone (19). Juvenile hormones are maintained in high concentrations to maintain the structure of the larvae at the time of molting, while PTTH will stimulate the production of ecdysone hormones which initiate the molting process.…”
