“…About a quarter of patients with a diagnosed hypersensitivity reaction to NSAIDs present to medical attention, before 18 years of age . In a large questionnaire survey in Europe, prevalence of NSAID intolerance in subjects between 10 and 20 years was estimated at about 10%, and it was significantly lower in children under the age of 10 years . However, there is significant variability between published studies, probably due to geographic differences, population and subpopulations (ethnical groups) studied, the case definition used as well as other less well‐defined factors.…”

“…The association of NSAIDs as potential agents inducing respiratory symptoms was made by logistic regression analysis. Results showed a mean prevalence of 1.9% with a variation rank from 0.9 to 4.9 in the different centers included 67Table 2Proposed guidelines for the differential diagnosis of clinical manifestation where skin symptoms are the predominantEntitiesNIUANECDMix reactionSNIUASNIDHRCategoryCICICISRSRUrticariaYesYesYesYesYesAngioedemaYes/NoYes/NoYes/NoYes/NoYes/NoAnaphylaxis+++++++Time interval1–6 hoursVariable2–24 hours≤1 hour6–24 hours*System symptomsNoNoYes/NoYes/NoNo*STNo valueNo valueNo valueOptional*Optional*Skin biopsyOptionalOptionalOptionalOptionalYesNature evolutionMay disappearVariableVariableMay disappearUnknownCorticoidsGoodVariableGoodGood Notes: The interval can be shorter or in rarer instances longer than 24 hours.…”

“…[6][7][8] Up to 45% of the CRSwNP patients will develop asthma, and 8-26% cannot tolerate non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) having NSAID-exacerbated respiratory disease (NERD), also called aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD). 1,[9][10][11] In the NERD there is found a strong eosinophilic hyperplastic inflammation on the mucosa of the common airways. 12 Patients with uncontrolled CRS after appropriate medical treatment will usually undergo endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS).…”
