Resource Allocation for Energy Efficiency in 5G Wireless Networks

Abstract: Resource allocation is one important mission in wireless communication systems. In 5G wireless networks, it is essential that the new systems be more dynamic and wiser to simultaneously satisfy various network demands, by using new wireless technologies and approaches. To this end, resource allocation is faced with many significant challenges such as interference alignment, security attacks, or green communication. On the other hand, as one serious problem in 5G networks, the issue of energy is affected direct… Show more

“…Resource allocation is one significant aspect in any systems. In IIoT applying 5G wireless networks [15], the new systems should be more dynamic and intelligent to simultaneously satisfy various network demands, by adopting new wireless technologies and approaches. To this end, resource allocation is faced with major challenges such as interference alignment, security attacks, or green communication.…”

“…The authors in [11] investigated different resources allocation schemes for EE maximization in various 5G wireless networks. In [12], the energy efficiency of a single cell D2Dcellular converged network is studied and the optimal D2D distance to maximize EE for video delivery is addressed.…”

“…In those schemes, the EE is targeted alone or as a joint objective with other performance metrics such as latency and sum-rate maximization. [11]- [15]. However, the EE maximization problem is a nonconvex problem [11], in particular, fractional programming is used to solve this problem.…”

“…There are significant efforts in the network EE optimization under the QoS constraints and a transmit power budget [32,33]. Nguyen [34] tackles the resource allocation for the critical EE in 5G wireless networks, which considers the EE in small cells, massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) [35,36] and cell-free networks [37]. In order to dynamically allocate wireless resources [19] such as cell slices and virtual base stations, Kwak et al [38] study bandwidth slicing and resource allocation problems for supporting the mixture of IoT and video streaming services.…”
