With the development of noble gas isotopic geochemistry, a tracing system for noble gas isotopes has gradually been applied to studies of ore fluid origins . As a result, in many metal deposits, mantle-derived He was discovered in ore fluids [1][2][3][4][5][7][8][9][10]12,[15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][25][26][27][28][29]. Mantle He in crustal rocks is intimately related to crust-mantle interaction, and the formation and evolution of mantle magma. Mantle magma not only provides ore fluid for metallogenesis, but also provides heat for the hydrothermal circulation that results in mineralization. Southeastern China is an important area of tungsten and tin metallogenesis, both regionally and globally, with many large, supergiant deposits, such as the Xihuangshan, Dajishan, and Piaotang tungsten deposits in Jiangxi province, the Jubankeng and Yaoling-Meiziwo

Key Points: A new well provide the opportunity of a reappraisal of a persistent regional H 2 production in intracontiental settings, in Kansas. Two different origins are suggested for H 2 production in intra-cratonic context: a crustal origin, a surficial origin. Hypotheses of two H 2 are supported by geochemical properties of associated gases, by water associated and completion story of the well.2 AbstractA geochemical study of gas coming from three wells in northeastern Kansas supplements previous studies from the 1980s and points to a persistent regional phenomenon of H 2 production. In 2008, a new well showed, just after drilling, a dry gas phase with more than 80 mole % of H 2 , followed by a water production associated with gas. This gas is mainly composed of N 2 , He, H 2 and occasionally CH 4 , with changing proportions through time. A drastic decrease in H 2 at the well was observed since the aquifer is produced, along with occasional recharges in H 2 evidenced notably in the early phases of gas sampling. We demonstrate that this evolution of gas composition is closely associated to the well completion story. Accordingly, two distinct origins of H 2 are proposed: (1) water reduction associated to iron oxidation in the Precambrian basement (deep crustal H 2 ); (2) reactions occurring in the tubing, primarily attributed to a high Fe 2+ content and organic carbon (DOC=4.1 mg.L -1 ) dissolved in the water. The low δD values averaging -760 ‰ are attributed to low temperature processes, in agreement with both the hypothesis. Furthermore, the suggested origins are supported by the observed gas associations: (a) deep crustal H 2 with radiogenic gases ( 4 He and 40 Ar) and metamorphic N 2 ( 15 N averaging +2.5‰); (b) surficial H 2 with methane produced in the sedimentary aquifer and the tubing by methanogenic organisms.

The Sanjiang Tethyan domain in SE Asia is one of the most important mineral belts in China. The Damajianshan (DMJS) W‐Cu‐As polymetallic deposit is located in the southern part of Sanjiang Tethyan domain, related to Triassic quartz porphyry. Detailed exploration thereafter shows that the reserves of W, Cu, and As are 0.09, 0.42, and 0.12 Mt, respectively. The W is a typical oxyphile element and always coexisted with Sn–Li–Be–Nb–Ta. The Cu–As are typical sulphophile elements and always coexisted with Au–Ag–Pb–Zn–Sb–Hg. It is rarely reported that a deposit preserves tungsten and copper–arsenic simultaneously in the southern Sanjiang region. In this study, the S–Pb isotopic ratios of sulphides, the H–O isotopic compositions of fluid inclusions in hydrothermal quartz, and the He–Ar isotopic ratios of fluid inclusions in sulphides were analysed to constrain the origin of the DMJS deposit. Studies have shown that the δ34S values of sulphides from ores are mainly between −6.17‰ and +0.02‰; the sulphur isotope compositions indicate that the ore‐forming materials might originate from deep sources. The Pb isotope characteristics indicate that the ore metals might originate from deep sources and be closely related to the quartz porphyry. The δ18Ofluid values of ore‐forming fluids calculated from hydrothermal quartz range from −5.5‰ to +7.5‰, and the δD values of the fluid inclusions in quartz are from −81.7‰ to −50.2‰. The H–O isotope systematics indicate that the ore fluids in the DMJS deposit were probably initially sourced from magmatic water and later gradually mixed with Mesozoic meteoric water. Fluid inclusions in pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, and pyrrhotite possess 3He/4He ratios of 0.02–0.05 Ra, and their 40Ar/36Ar ratios range from 562.47 to 4159.15, indicating a complete crustal fluids and with higher radiogenic 40Ar. The noble gas isotopic data, along with the stable isotopic data, suggest that the ore‐forming fluids have a deep source. The unique geologic structure of the Sanjiang Tethys tectonic metallogenic region and the evolution of ore‐forming fluids both promoted the formation of this rare DMJS deposit.
