“…Taking care of a child with neurological disorders, in addition to domestic responsibilities, increases marital and financial difficulties and predisposes these mothers to social isolation, reducing their time to perform personal care and leisure. Anxiety, depression, and quality of life in mothers of children with congenital Zika syndrome: Results of a 5-year follow-up study

“…Poor mental health in mothers of children with CZS may also be associated with the health demands and care of the child 4 , lack of social support 5 , 6 , changes in occupational roles 7 , and stigmatization of the disease 4 . A previous study found a relationship between increased levels of anxiety and lower levels of acceptance of self and life among these mothers 8 .
