“…We hope that future research builds on this study to not only evaluate the attention paid to space debris in local emergency management plans, but also how these changes over time. It would especially be informative to see whether there are changes made based on direct experience or indirect experience of such events (Becker et al, 2017), whether news coverage of events elsewhere creates the conditions for learning from others' experiences (Jamieson & Van Belle, 2019, 2022), and the relative importance of information search and perceived risks of space debris events on local emergency plans (Reyes‐Nuñez & Jamieson, 2022). Additional research outside the scope of this study could revolve around the reverberating policy implication to the commercial and residential insurance and reinsurance industries.…”
