Research Progress on the Relationship between Temperature and Tumor Growth and Metastasis

Abstract

Tumor growth and metastasis are affected by many factors, among which temperature change can directly or indirectly affect tumor growth and metastasis. Temperature can affect tumor growth and metastasis by affecting tumor cells, tumor microenvironment and immune capacity. Some studies have proved that the regulation of local or overall body temperature and external environment temperature can affect tumor growth and metastasis, and some research results have been applied to clinical tumor treatment, such as hyperthermia. Accurate regulation of body temperature and external temperature is a positive and effective direction to inhibit tumor growth and prevent tumor metastasis. In this review, we reviewed the research progress on the relationship and regulation mechanism between temperature and tumor growth and metastasis.
