“…There is natural variance in levels of self-determination among students with disabilities, with higher levels of self-determination predicting postschool success (Mazzotti et al, 2021). Decades of accumulating research on self-determination further document that instruction in self-selected goal attainment can help students acquire higher levels of enduring self-determination (Shogren, Wehmeyer, Palmer, et al, 2015).
