Research on the matching characteristics of the theoretical digging force of a backhoe hydraulic excavator

Abstract: The theoretical digging force is the maximum digging resistance that an excavator can overcome, which is an important measure of its digging capacity. To study the matching of the digging capacity with the actual demand and the matching of the working device mechanism, a 36.5 t backhoe hydraulic excavator is used as an example to analyse the distributions of the digging resistance under two different normal digging area working conditions and the maximum digging resistance characteristics of the tool. An appro… Show more

“…The digging resistance generally includes the cutting resistance of the soil to the teeth and cutting edge of the bucket, the friction resistance of the soil flowing along the base plate and side wall of the bucket, and the force generated by overcoming the internal friction of the soil. The structural parameters and digging state of the bucket directly affect the digging resistance and energy consumption of the bucket [3,4]. At present, buckets have the problems of high digging resistances, high energy consumption and low bucket filling rates, which Appl.…”
