The influence of the internal structure of a network on the network prominently manifests in the overall characteristics of the network characterized by the centralization of the network, the position of network nodes, centrality, and structural holes (Ter Wal, 2013; Li and Phelps, 2017; Bai et al., 2020; Di et al., 2022) and the connection characteristics of network elements characterized by the small‐world nature of the network (Cantner et al., 2016; Gu and Liu, 2019; Henning and McKelvey, 2020).
