Research on the Factors of Competition in the Green Procurement Processes: A Case Study for the Conditions of Romania Using PLS-SEM Methodology

Abstract: In this paper, starting from the conceptual model of the rational behavior theory developed by Icek Ajzen, the authors develop a behavioral model of rational expectations of the managerial decisions in order to determine the influence of the behavior of the undertakings on a competitive environmental market. The data were collected between 1 May 2019–30 June 2019 with the help of a questionnaire addressed to the employees and managers of the companies engaged in the green procurement processes in Romania. “…These findings contradict the findings of Busu and Busu (2020), who revealed that procuring entities did not consider the environmental aspects that evaluated the bids. Lastly, the majority of the respondents were in agreement that the procurement officers were knowledgeable enough to implement sustainable procurement within the organization (mean = 3.9).…”

“…Figure 2 illustrates the measurement model of the study. Variables with loadings below 0.5 were excluded from the model (Sarstedt et al 2021;Busu and Busu, 2021). Thus, the respondents were significantly aware of and adopted the digital health monitors (Brar et al 2022); e-tenders (Turk, 2021;Maple Tech.…”

“…Table 4 and Figure 2 show the results of the PLS-SEM analysis; the indicators are all highly correlated with the constructs for which they were designed. In addition, the construct indicators all scored higher than the cut-off value of 0.708, indicating that they accurately represented the construct (Buitrago et al, 2021;Busu and Busu, 2021;Chung and Liang, 2020;Coltman et al, 2008;Monecke and Leisch, 2012;Palos-Sanchez et al, 2021).…”

“…This study chose structural equation modeling (SEM) due to its ability to model all possible paths simultaneously. For the following reasons, we prefer partial least squares (PLS-SEM) over covariance-based (CB-SEM): (a) it identifies which element can cause which type of effect within the variables under study; (b) it tolerates small samples; (c) it does not require validation of the strongest statistical assumptions, such as normality, homoscedasticity, and nonlinearity; and (d) statistically, it enables the measurement of correlations (Busu and Busu, 2021;Chung and Liang, 2020;Hair et al, 2017Hair et al, , 2019Hair et al, 2012a;Kock, 2016Kock, , 2019Monecke and Leisch, 2012;Palos-Sanchez et al, 2021).…”
