Research on the Evaluation of Geological Environment Carrying Capacity Based on the AHP-CRITIC Empowerment Method

Abstract: In this study, two districts, Erdaojiang District and Dongchang District, in Tonghua City, Jilin Province, were evaluated for their geological environment carrying capacity. A total of 14 evaluation indicators were selected from the three aspects of the geological environment, ecological environment, and social environment to make it more comprehensive to evaluate the carrying capacity of the geological environment. Using the AHP and CRITIC methods, the subjective weight and objective weight of each evaluation… Show more

“…The Criteria Importance Though Intercrieria Correlation (CRITIC) method is a quantitative analysis method based on the information contained in the data of the indicators themselves, and the weights of the indicators are calculated by mathematical deduction. The determination of weight coefficients of different indicators is based on two basic concepts: contrast strength and conflict 31 . Therefore, the CRITIC weighting method was used to determine the weights of the droplet uniformity indices on the adaxial and abaxial sides of the canopy leaves, followed by the establishment of a pesticide application efficiency evaluation model.…”

“…The resource and environmental carrying capacity refers to the ability of the resource and environmental systems to bear various social and economic activities while meeting the developmental needs and the relative stability of functions within a certain region (Wang et al, 2019; Wang et al, 2020; Qi et al, 2022). Research on resource and environmental carrying capacity evaluation has a developmental history in China that can be traced back to 1988 (Dang and Peng, 1988).…”

“…Research on resource and environmental carrying capacity evaluation has a developmental history in China that can be traced back to 1988 (Dang and Peng, 1988). Domestic research on resource and environmental carrying capacity has developed from single-factor evaluation to multi-factor and dynamic integrated evaluation, which are now more pluralistic and comprehensive than those of past years (Wang et al, 2019; Wang et al, 2020; Qi et al, 2022). Common evaluation methods for resource and environmental carrying capacity include the index system, footprint, and classical statistical methods (Zhang et al, 2018; Hsu et al, 2021).…”

“…Australia and Canada have a vast territory, a relatively small population, and a relatively sparse underground goaf distribution, so open -pit mining is feasible. However, compared with these countries, China has formed a large number of underground goaf in the mining process [11][12][13] , especially in the underground mines using open-pit mining. Since the 1980s, illegal mining has gradually emerged in China, leading to the existence of a large number of unknown underground goaf around the mines 14,15 .…”
